1: cocoon coat //2: sweater // 3: lipstick // 4: sneakers // 5: staggered hem jeans // 6: croc embossed fanny pack // 7: bomber jacket // 8: velvet earrings // 9: gold booties // 10: sunglasses

A few items to make that transition into fall weather a little less painful! I’m loving all the rich hues, staggered hems and velvet I’m seeing everywhere this season. Layers and texture are key to staying warm and looking polished in crisp temperatures. I selected a variety of go-to and versatile pieces that carry from season to season. You know, quality over quantity! What are some of your favorite fall pieces and trends this year?

lace-mix minidress

scarf: Gucci similar // dress: Who What Wear // sandals: Gucci // shades: Prada

And just like that, it’s summertime in Chicago! It’s been in the mid to upper 80s for the past week. Summer is my season – sandals, dresses, beaches, patios, etc. This breezy dress is perfect for this type of weather. It’s lightweight cotton and has just the right amount of lace for a flirty detail. I’m still growing out my hair, though it’s not long enough to pull back yet. So silk wraps and bobby pins are my go-to.

casual & cool

turtleneck: Uniqlo // overalls: Zara similar // bag: Barneys New York // shades: Prada // slides: Gucci

Overalls and jumpsuits are always a great choice for a casual and easy look. They’re versatile and super comfy – dress them up with heels or down with a tee and sneakers. It’s been cooler these past few weeks in Chicago, so I decided to wear a thinner turtleneck for a bit more warmth! To keep is simple and chic I went with a sleek backpack, slides and a red lip for a pop.

It’s starting to feel like spring in Chicago and I couldn’t be happier! I’m loving all the trends happing now: oversized, off-the-shoulder fit, embroidery, and saturated hues to name a few. This shirt from Tobi is a stylish update to your everyday button-down. I like the relaxed, yet structured fit and longer length – it’s like wearing your husband’s shirt. Prefect and on trend for the warmer weather ahead!

oversized sleeves

scarf: Gucci similar // shirt: Zara // shades: Céline //pants: Armani Exchange // bag: Barneys New York // sneakers: Miu Miu

I’m really loving all the oversized sleeves I’m seeing everywhere right now. Volume, texture, and flow are always a fun way to add interest to a look. I picked up this long-sleeved tee at Zara a few weeks ago. It adds just the right amount of fun to a casual look. What are some of your favorite Spring trends?

all black with texture

scarf: Gucci similar // jacket: Vince // belt: Prada similar // pants: Massimo Dutti // boots: Zara // bag: Prada // shades: Prada

A black blazer is a wardrobe staple. It pulls a look together and can easily be dressed up or down. For texture I added an oversized scarf and cinched the waist with a slim belt. I’ve been growing out my hair for a few months. I’m sticking with it, though it’s reached an awkward length. I’ve been wearing it curly and occasionally wrapping it up with silk scarves to get me through the process!

Gucci preview

Last week I attended the Gucci preview highlighting the 2017 Cruise collection and a few pieces for Spring & Summer. Alessandro Michele, the creative director of Gucci describes the Cruise collection: “… a beautiful chaos, it is a powerful mix of the past and the present.” I completely agree, it’s a bold balance of classic silhouettes, vibrant colors with adornments displayed in a unique and very modern arrangement. From fur-lined slippers to hand stitched embellishments, each piece is exquisitely crafted. Gah, those tiger fur-lined slides! One of everything, please!
