You can never go wrong when pairing black and dark denim together for a look. I love the layered panels and flow of this silk blouse from COS. They are so good at chic pieces with interesting details! A neutral bag and shoes add just the right amount of texture and subtle color. What are some of your go-to color combinations for Spring?

You know I love clean lines and minimalistic styling. So when I discovered this crisp white blouse with a vented back shirttail, I immediately added it to my spring wardrobe. I’ve also been swapping out dark denim for lighter blues these past few weeks. Feeling optimistic for Spring.  Really, I’m just hoping for warmer weather and fresh blooms in Chicago!

I’m all about pairing sneakers with elevated basics for a casual look. I love clean lines and classic pieces that are versatile and can be dressed up or down. Back skinny jeans and a white tee are wardrobe essentials. I added an oversized scarf for texture, black sneakers with crisp white laces and my go-to backpack. Easy and chic styling for spring.

Finally transitioning into warmer weather with light knitwear. Loafers and slip-on sneakers are my go-to shoes for spring. For this look I kept it casual with distressed denim, neutral knitwear and black accessories. To keep it feminine, I chose a driving loafer and a brighter lip for a pop of color. What are some of your favorite transition pieces for spring?

Spring and Summer styles are popping up everywhere and I couldn’t be more excited about it! My husband and I have escaped Chicago’s cold weather to soak up the sun in Tulum, Mexico. This Arctic Ice Open Back Tank from Oh My Julian is perfect for a beach vacation! It’s a delicate crocheted knit with a sheer open back. I paired white denim and black accessories together for a chic and minimal look. All Taffeta and Cedar readers can receive 15% off your purchase with code TF15 at closetbarcode.com. With the long winters in Chicago, it’s so important to have great winter boots. First and foremost, they must be warm. We have sub-zero temps, bone chilling wind and we can get a lot of snow. These White Water Duck Boots from Sperry are perfect for such conditions. They are warm and extra soft with a faux fur lining. The rubber outsole provides good traction – especially important when the city is glazed with ice and snow.

It felt like spring this past weekend in Chicago! I’m pretty sure the entire city was out and about enjoying the sunshine and temps in the 60’s! So I took this opportunity to shed some layers and play with some spring styling. I love the cut and length of this button down. It feels fresh and has great movement with the extra long back. As aways, keeping it classic and minimal.

Snow boots are a wardrobe must if you live in Chicago. The salt, snow and slush will ruin those gorgeous designer boots, so don’t risk it! I recently added these suede booties with faux shearing lining from TOMS to my winter routine. They’re warm and great for light snow days in the city, and stylish enough to wear around the office.

Adding an oversized scarf is the easiest way to make a look come together. It adds texture, color and movement. I picked up this striped foulard in Florence last December and it’s been the prefect addition to so many outfits. Oh, and you can never have too many scarves during the winter. They’re a lifesaver for both inside and outside!
