A combination of elevated winter basics and different textures are a great way to stay warm and not feel over layered. My favorite type of sweater has always been  a soft cable-knit; specifically a heavy woven cotton or acrylic blend. I decided on a dark skinny jean with side zippers at the ankle, a pointy ankle boot, and bold lip to keep my look chic. Have a great Monday and stay warm!

For travel, I opt for comfort and a monochromatic palette. I like to layer and have a scarf at the ready. It keeps me cozy during the flight since it always seems chilly, no matter the season. As I mentioned here, I like to travel light and efficiently. For a weekend trip I pack a carry-on suitcase and large bag to tote around my toiletries, book, purse, and iPad mini. If you’re traveling during the Holidays, try packing light and saving a little extra room for those presents! Safe travels, everyone!

I’ve never been too excited about wearing hats. When I was little, I remember avoiding it as much as possible when it was time to go outside in the cold. However, now it’s one of my must-have winter accessories. Mostly out of function, rather than fashion. Since Chicago has some pretty frigid temperatures, lake-effect snow, and bitter winds during the winter; I can’t leave my house without one these days. I always like neutrals and classic pieces for  winter accessories – just like this ribbed hat with a fox fur pom-pom.

Throughout the week, I’m usually busy running errands and doing so in comfort.  Since the temperatures have dipped into the teens, layers and wool are an absolute necessity! I decided on a cozy sweater and large pashmina for warmth. A black puffer coat and casual boots complete my look for running around the city.

When going though my sweaters the other day, I found this graphic print from a few seasons ago. While I’ve been drawn to more minimalistic pieces this fall, it’s always fun to switch things up. I decided to pair it with some cargo pants and black boots for a relaxed look.
