Overalls and jumpsuits are always a great choice for a casual and easy look. They’re versatile and super comfy – dress them up with heels or down with a tee and sneakers. It’s been cooler these past few weeks in Chicago, so I decided to wear a thinner turtleneck for a bit more warmth! To keep is simple and chic I went with a sleek backpack, slides and a red lip for a pop.

Volume and ruffles are trending this spring. While I’ve always loved volume and the interest it brings to a look, I haven’t worn too many frilly ruffles for quite some time. When I saw this oversized frilly sleeve on a
no doubt black top a few weeks ago at Zara, I had to grab it! It’s an easy way to dress up jeans, or pair with black pants and heels for a night out. Also, these mules are super comfortable and also from Zara. You need them for spring and summer!

I’m really loving all the oversized sleeves I’m seeing everywhere right now. Volume, texture, and flow are always a fun way to add interest to a look. I picked up this long-sleeved tee at Zara a few weeks ago. It adds just the right amount of fun to a casual look. What are some of your favorite Spring trends?

I’ve always loved accessorizing with scarves. They add just the right amount of texture and interest to any look. I tied this silk scarf similar to a necktie and kept my look simple and chic. A fitted tee, wide-leg wool pants, and streamline flats for a polished look.

It’s October, I guess that means it’s time to pack away the summer sandals and switch to boots and close-toed shoes
for six long months. I do love a classic boot, jeans and comfy sweater or tee. A simple, yet polished look for the weekend or even the office. What boots do you have your eye on this fall?

While I love summer and it’s my favorite time of year, I do look forward to wearing layers as the weather cools down. I picked up this cropped jacket over the weekend and can’t wait to add it into my fall routine. I love the clean line and subtle texture it has; it’s easily dressed up or down with jeans and heels or loafers. What are some of you favorite go-to pieces in-between seasons?

I’m back from a wonderful vacation to Croatia, Bosnia and Italy – view the highlights on @taffetaandcedar. Days before I left for Italy, I picked up these wide-leg pants at Uniqlo…and I love them! They are perfect for travel and can be dressed up or down. I wore them to dinner a couple of times and for our train ride from Rome to Venice, which is about 3.5 hours. What are some of your go-to pieces for travel?

I’m all about pairing sneakers with elevated basics for a casual look. I love clean lines and classic pieces that are versatile and can be dressed up or down. Back skinny jeans and a white tee are wardrobe essentials. I added an oversized scarf for texture, black sneakers with crisp white laces and my go-to backpack. Easy and chic styling for spring.

Finally transitioning into warmer weather with light knitwear. Loafers and slip-on sneakers are my go-to shoes for spring. For this look I kept it casual with distressed denim, neutral knitwear and black accessories. To keep it feminine, I chose a driving loafer and a brighter lip for a pop of color. What are some of your favorite transition pieces for spring?

With the long winters in Chicago, it’s so important to have great winter boots. First and foremost, they must be warm. We have sub-zero temps, bone chilling wind and we can get a lot of snow. These White Water Duck Boots from Sperry are perfect for such conditions. They are warm and extra soft with a faux fur lining. The rubber outsole provides good traction – especially important when the city is glazed with ice and snow.
This post was a collaboration with Sperry. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting collaborations with Taffeta and Cedar!
