My husband and I will soon escape Chicago’s cold weather to soak up the sun in Tulum. Here are a few items that I’ll be bringing on our trip to Mexico! This year, I decided to add a white bikini into my wardrobe. After spending hours online shopping, I decided on another one from Proenza Schouler. I love the black and white bikini I purchased a couple of years ago and was excited to find this one – super comfortable and a great fit. Also, since my hair is short and I can’t pull it back, I wrap it up in silk scarves. It’s easy and keeps me looking chic on the beach! Sunshine, beaches, tacos, and mango margaritas for days! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (early access) officially begins today! Here are a few of my top picks, including elevated basics, closet staples, and versatile pieces. To really make the most of your wardrobe, I suggest investing in quality pieces that can be interchanged and worn frequently. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the time to stock up and strategically build your wardrobe. A reminder that this week is early access for Nordstrom card holders only, but you can apply online or in-store!
Volume and ruffles are trending this spring. While I’ve always loved volume and the interest it brings to a look, I haven’t worn too many frilly ruffles for quite some time. When I saw this oversized frilly sleeve on a no doubt black top a few weeks ago at Zara, I had to grab it! It’s an easy way to dress up jeans, or pair with black pants and heels for a night out. Also, these mules are super comfortable and also from Zara. You need them for spring and summer!
It’s starting to feel like spring in Chicago and I couldn’t be happier! I’m loving all the trends happing now: oversized, off-the-shoulder fit, embroidery, and saturated hues to name a few. This shirt fromTobi is a stylish update to your everyday button-down. I like the relaxed, yet structured fit and longer length – it’s like wearing your husband’s shirt. Prefect and on trend for the warmer weather ahead!
I’ve always loved accessorizing with scarves. They add just the right amount of texture and interest to any look. I tied this silk scarf similar to a necktie and kept my look simple and chic. A fitted tee, wide-leg wool pants, and streamline flats for a polished look.
It’s always refreshing to switch to lighter aromas and softer colors for Spring. Here are a few of my favorites. I generally stick to a natural palette and will occasionally wear a bold lip or something with extra shine. I’m really loving the Fiona Stiles Lip Balm as of late. It’s the perfect amount of shine to wear alone or layer over a lipstick – and it’s super moistening! Oh, you can never go wrong with a luxe mascara that adds volume with a single stroke!
Who doesn’t love a great bag? I choose quality over quantity for the majority of my wardrobe, especially when it comes to an investment bag. I’ve recently come to love Bag Borrow or Steal, an online platform to borrow and share designer bags. It’s such a great way to experience different styles, designers and refresh your accessories. All you have to do is create an account (promotion for new users) and you’re a few clicks away from designer bags shipped to your door! Enjoy!
Here are a few pieces from Dior’s Spring 2016 Makeup Collection, Glowing Gardens. I’m very excited to try new Lip Glow in Lilac and Lip Glow Liner! The Pink has been my go-to for years, looking forward to the new additions!
I’m looking forward to watching this behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Raf Simons’ first haute couture collection as new artistic director of Dior. It just opened in select theaters over weekend. Until then, be sure to watch the trailer below.
