Casa Santa Marta
Weekend Inspiration: Last April when I was in Roma for the Beatification of Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II, I was able to visit Casa Santa Marta. It’s located inside Vatican City and is currently where Pope Francis resides. The photo I took above is of his private chapel. Have a happy Easter weekend!
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milano is undergoing a major restoration. It was built by Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865-1877 and connects Piazza del Duomo and Piazza della Scala. My weekend inspiration is Villa Borghese. About a week ago my husband and I toured the villa, and admired Cardinal Scipione Borghese’s stunning art collection. He was a patron of Bernini and Caravaggio. If you find yourself traveling to Rome anytime soon, I highly suggest spending an afternoon touring the villa and walking through the beautiful gardens.
