My husband and I will soon escape Chicago’s cold weather to soak up the sun in Tulum. Here are a few items that I’ll be bringing on our trip to Mexico! This year, I decided to add a white bikini into my wardrobe. After spending hours online shopping, I decided on another one from Proenza Schouler. I love the black and white bikini I purchased a couple of years ago and was excited to find this one – super comfortable and a great fit. Also, since my hair is short and I can’t pull it back, I wrap it up in silk scarves. It’s easy and keeps me looking chic on the beach! Sunshine, beaches, tacos, and mango margaritas for days! Volume and ruffles are trending this spring. While I’ve always loved volume and the interest it brings to a look, I haven’t worn too many frilly ruffles for quite some time. When I saw this oversized frilly sleeve on a
no doubt black top a few weeks ago at Zara, I had to grab it! It’s an easy way to dress up jeans, or pair with black pants and heels for a night out. Also, these mules are super comfortable and also from Zara. You need them for spring and summer!

I’ve always loved accessorizing with scarves. They add just the right amount of texture and interest to any look. I tied this silk scarf similar to a necktie and kept my look simple and chic. A fitted tee, wide-leg wool pants, and streamline flats for a polished look.

It’s October, I guess that means it’s time to pack away the summer sandals and switch to boots and close-toed shoes
for six long months. I do love a classic boot, jeans and comfy sweater or tee. A simple, yet polished look for the weekend or even the office. What boots do you have your eye on this fall?

Stripes and denim are a classic combo. I love the button detail on the shoulder, it’s a little pop of asymmetry and extra interest. This shirt is the perfect weight and softness for cooler temps, too! Slides and mules are still big thing and I love them, as I mentioned here. So, I had to add these fluffy shoes into my fall wardrobe!

I love the look of an oversized boxy button down and jeans. It’s comfortable, yet still looks polished with the right accessories. I picked up these nude loafers in Rome last month and seem to be wearing them on repeat these past few days. Happy Wednesday!

A pair of distressed shorts and simple tee are perfect for summer. To keep it polished, edit your casual look with a pair of slides, blazer, and simple clutch or backpack. I love minimalism and clean lines, so I went with neutrals and elevated basics.

I’m back from a wonderful vacation to Croatia, Bosnia and Italy – view the highlights on @taffetaandcedar. Days before I left for Italy, I picked up these wide-leg pants at Uniqlo…and I love them! They are perfect for travel and can be dressed up or down. I wore them to dinner a couple of times and for our train ride from Rome to Venice, which is about 3.5 hours. What are some of your go-to pieces for travel?

I love the wide-leg on this flowy jumpsuit! Rompers and jumpsuits are always a summer go-to for me. You can easily dress them up for a night out with heels, or go casual with flats for the office. I picked this one up at Old Navy last week…it’s on sale now! Where are some of your favorite rompers/jumpsuits from?

I love having short hair, it’s been variations of short for over 10 years. I tried growing it out this past winter and it was
torture uncomfortable. Though in the warmer months I like having it out of my face, especially when it’s humid or while I’m at the beach. Since I’m not a fan of bobby pins and clips, my solution is a large scarf. Yes, it’s that simple and pretty chic, too!
