Overalls and jumpsuits are always a great choice for a casual and easy look. They’re versatile and super comfy – dress them up with heels or down with a tee and sneakers. It’s been cooler these past few weeks in Chicago, so I decided to wear a thinner turtleneck for a bit more warmth! To keep is simple and chic I went with a sleek backpack, slides and a red lip for a pop.

We had some really cold temps this past weekend in Chicago. Cold enough to get out my puffer coat and warmer layers. For this look, I kept it classic with dark colors and elevated basics. You can never go wrong with cozy turtlenecks, boots, and extra-warm layers when you live in the Midwest!

I’m back from a wonderful vacation to Croatia, Bosnia and Italy – view the highlights on @taffetaandcedar. Days before I left for Italy, I picked up these wide-leg pants at Uniqlo…and I love them! They are perfect for travel and can be dressed up or down. I wore them to dinner a couple of times and for our train ride from Rome to Venice, which is about 3.5 hours. What are some of your go-to pieces for travel?
turtleneck: UNIQLO // pants: COS // bag: Barneys New York // shoes: Danielle // shades: Céline
Switching from my usual fitted skinny pant to a more relaxed silhouette, the cropped wide-leg. It’s chic, yet comfortable and sophisticated. I noticed everyone was wearing variations of the cropped wide-leg in Italy while visiting over the holidays. You know what they say, when in Rome… So, I picked up this wool-blend jersey knit from COS and love the fit!

Here are a few of my top picks for November. I’ve been drawn to neutral knitwear and deep burgundy hues for accessories and makeup these past few weeks. Warm colors and elevated basics for the win!
cashmere sweater: Uniqlo // scarf: True Religion // shades: Marc by Marc Jacobs // leggings: True Religion // boots: Prada
I picked up these coated denim leggings and scarf last week when I attended the Michigan Ave. True Religion event. Their fall/winter collection has so many great pieces, but I just loved the fit of these ‘Runway Leggings’. Not only do they fit like a glove, but they’re comfortable and they look like leather. So, I decided on a neutral v-neck cashmere sweater and classic black booties to keep my look feeling polished, but with a bit of edge.
coat: Uniqlo // shades: Marc by Marc Jacobs // turtleneck: Uniqlo // pants: Armani Exchange // shoes: Merona // bag: Barneys New York
I love the clean A-line shape and high collar of this coat that I picked up last week at the Uniqlo pre-opening event. It’s the perfect addition to my fall wardrobe and it’s a soft blend of cashmere and wool. As much as I dislike colder weather, I do enjoy the heavier textures, colors and accessories that go along with it.
Uniqlo Chicago opens today! I attended their pre-opening event last night and the space is gorgeous! There are so many great pieces and collaborations in-store. Time to refresh your fall wardrobe!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I began mine with UNIQLO at their Train Takeover Event! Yep, it was on the train and better than any ride I’ve ever experienced on the CTA! UNIQLO is opening their new store in Chicago on October 23rd, so mark your calendars!
This is a collaboration I’m really looking forward to seeing this fall. The collection will be available in October, and I can image it will be a perfect balance of clean lines and Parsian chic! If only Chicago had a Uniqlo store!
