With the long winters in Chicago, it’s so important to have great winter boots. First and foremost, they must be warm. We have sub-zero temps, bone chilling wind and we can get a lot of snow. These White Water Duck Boots from Sperry are perfect for such conditions. They are warm and extra soft with a faux fur lining. The rubber outsole provides good traction – especially important when the city is glazed with ice and snow.
This post was a collaboration with Sperry. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting collaborations with Taffeta and Cedar!

With the temps getting warmer that can only mean sandals, sleeveless tees and shorts are a must! These seersucker shorts from Vince are lightweight and can easily be worn with sandals and a tee or dressed up a bit with some wedges.

There’s nothing like a comfortable pair of relaxed boyfriend jeans. They’re so easy to dress up or down with the right pieces. Since the weather has been Spring-like in Chicago, I decided to unpack my strappy sandals and sport a casual linen long sleeve with my comfy boyfriend jeans.

Tomboy chic is a comfortable choice for the middle of a busy week. I like to combine pieces that have structure and clean lines with slouchy boyfriend jeans and slip-on sneakers. It’s an easy way to dress down while looking polished and put together for the office. It’ll be even better when all this snow and glacier-like ice melt away!

Clean lines, a pop of red, and animal print make for a great combination. A sheer turtleneck with skinny jeans is sleek and adds just the right amount of interest to an all-black look. A classic look for the holidays!

The weather in Rome has been prefect: sunny & hot! I picked up this simple black dress in Capri over the weekend, and it’s been the perfect addition to my small collection of summer dresses. Follow along for more pictures of my trip on Instagram @taffetaandcedar. Ciao!

I’ve been admiring lighter colors since the weather has been so gorgeous and sunny! All-white and some neutrals are the right mix of causal chic. A nude clutch or bag is a wardrobe must-have, and I love the minimalist style of this one from Phillip Lim.

I love the asymmetrical drape of the pleats on this LBD. They add just the right amount of movement and interest to a blouson dress. I decided on a combination of simple black and silver accessories, so not to take away any attention from the style of the dress. A fun addition to my Summer dresses!

A summer go-to of mine is a sleeveless black shirt. Since this is a basic staple, I often find myself justifying the need to add another to my collection. But really, they all style differently and can change a look! What are some of your favorite summer go-to pieces?

I’ve been wearing these boyfriend jeans on repeat as of late – why did it take me so long to get a pair? Sleeveless shirts are one of my Summer staples, and with the gorgeous weather we had over the weekend I had to go sans sleeves. I picked up this shirt last year on an unplanned visit to H&M, and it still remains one of my favorite finds for under $20.00! Hooray for great fashion finds!
