I hope everyone survived the long Thanksgiving weekend full of food and sales! I generally don’t go out shopping on Black Friday, though I did manage to snag a few sales online and later on Saturday at some boutiques in my neighborhood. I’m so excited about this hand-painted silk scarf from Eliza Dot Design. It’s luxurious and is the perfect way to add a pop of color to any look. Each scarf is unique in that it’s handmade and painted with a palette of vibrant pigments. Have a great Monday!

A pop of color always feels so refreshing. I decided to switch gears from heavy knits and wool, to something a little less bulky. Since I’m always cold, a large scarf is the perfect accessory. And you can never go wrong with a black hobo bag and maroon lip.

It’s so rare for me to wear skirts in the winter. I really do love the idea of it; wool skirts, tights, and fun boots! It’s just so difficult for me to agree to the idea of not wearing pants and knee high socks in bone-chilling temperatures lasting for months. Though, on occasion it does happen! I needed a change and opted for the warmest pieces in my closet to do so. Hope you’re having a great week!

Throughout the week, I’m usually busy running errands and doing so in comfort. Since the temperatures have dipped into the teens, layers and wool are an absolute necessity! I decided on a cozy sweater and large pashmina for warmth. A black puffer coat and casual boots complete my look for running around the city.

When going though my sweaters the other day, I found this graphic print from a few seasons ago. While I’ve been drawn to more minimalistic pieces this fall, it’s always fun to switch things up. I decided to pair it with some cargo pants and black boots for a relaxed look.

One of my cold weather staples is a warm puffer coat. I’m always cold, so layers and more layers are how I make it though a Chicago winter. I love the huge collar on this (super) soft cardigan. The over-sized buttons and front pockets make this a great option to wear with jeans or pair it with a skirt and tights.

I love the clean lines and asymmetrical drape of this vest. The open back detail gives it an interesting element of surprise, too. It’s an ideal layering piece to wear over sweaters and flouncy shirts, or over a tee for a polished casual look. Have a great week!
