I’m thrilled to announce the launch of wardrobe styling and personal shopping services here on Taffeta + Cedar. Whether you’re looking for a new seasonal wardrobe, a dress for a special occasion, or you just don’t have the time to shop, I am here to assist and make the process a whole lot easier. I would love to work with you to make you look and feel great!

Volume and ruffles are trending this spring. While I’ve always loved volume and the interest it brings to a look, I haven’t worn too many frilly ruffles for quite some time. When I saw this oversized frilly sleeve on a
no doubt black top a few weeks ago at Zara, I had to grab it! It’s an easy way to dress up jeans, or pair with black pants and heels for a night out. Also, these mules are super comfortable and also from Zara. You need them for spring and summer!

Jumpsuits are a favorite of mine – easy to dress up or down and always comfortable. This moto jumpsuit from Tobi has just the right amount of edge and street chic style. It’s perfect for Saturday night cocktails or Sunday brunch on a patio. And because I love jumpsuits so much and think everyone should have one in their spring wardrobe, one lucky person will win this one (different from pictured above)! In the comment section below, tell me how you would style it and a winner will be selected on April 15th!
The Nest Beach Bar – Jolly Harbor
Our spring getaway this year was to Antigua. We stayed at Sugar Ridge, a gorgeous resort on the southwest side of the island near Jolly Harbor. It was wonderful, and everything we needed to relax and escape the cold weather in Chicago. Here are just a few highlights from the trip, check out more on my Instagram @taffetaandcedar. The weather was perfect – sunshine and in the low 80’s. We started our first full day with a massage at their Aveda spa, then we took the beach shuttle (vintage Land Rover) to the beach, followed by a trip to the pool, and dinner at one of their restaurants. Perfection! The next few days were pretty comparable. It was just what we needed to relax, defrost, recharge and reenergize. If you’re looking for a place to escape, add it to the list!

It’s starting to feel like spring in Chicago and I couldn’t be happier! I’m loving all the trends happing now: oversized, off-the-shoulder fit, embroidery, and saturated hues to name a few. This shirt from Tobi is a stylish update to your everyday button-down. I like the relaxed, yet structured fit and longer length – it’s like wearing your husband’s shirt. Prefect and on trend for the warmer weather ahead!

I’m really loving all the oversized sleeves I’m seeing everywhere right now. Volume, texture, and flow are always a fun way to add interest to a look. I picked up this long-sleeved tee at Zara a few weeks ago. It adds just the right amount of fun to a casual look. What are some of your favorite Spring trends?

Monday motivation #3: the beach! Looking forward to our upcoming trip to Antigua. It can’t come soon enough – beach, sunshine, pool on repeat!

With the weather being so mild these past few weeks in Chicago, I’m thinking spring fashion! I’m loving all the patchwork, embroidery, volume and texture trending on the runways and streets. Metallic and blush pinks are still everywhere, and I love it! Also, the logo belt buckle is making a strong comeback.

A black blazer is a wardrobe staple. It pulls a look together and can easily be dressed up or down. For texture I added an oversized scarf and cinched the waist with a slim belt. I’ve been growing out my hair for a few months. I’m sticking with it, though it’s reached an awkward length. I’ve been wearing it curly and occasionally wrapping it up with silk scarves to get me through the process!
