July picks

1: morningside shiftdress, Madewell // 2: sicily sandals, Vince // 3: bamboo geo print scarf, Armani Exchange // 4: elaea necklace, Laura Lombardi // 5: glossimer, Rose Rêvé – Chanel

Here are a few of my top picks for July. Lately, I’ve been drawn to navy and other blue hues. And I’m really loving the idea of a simple shiftdress for these hot summer days. Oh, and those Vince sandals look oh-so-comfortable for doing a lot of walking around the city. What are some of your favorite summer pieces?

color story: black & white

I’m sure you’ve noticed my love for neutrals, clean lines, and black apparel! I do enjoy color, but I’ve never really been a fan of wearing it. More of an admirer, I guess. Here are a few black & white pieces that have caught my eye. How  great are those Vince flats?!

mattify your skin for summer

Lotion Pureté, Chanel // Blotting Linens, Boscia // Double Perfection Lumière, Chanel // Clear Improvements – Charcoal Mask, Origins

Here are a few products to assist with oil control and the unwanted glow that comes with a muggy Summer. I have very oily skin to begin with, and when the humidity rises so does the unwanted shine on my face. Seriously, there are days that I look like I just finished running a marathon, but I really just walked outside of my house. Ugh!  I’m currently in search of a lightweight moisturizer for Summer. Any suggestions?

casual cutoffs

shirt: Zara (similar here) // cutoff shorts: Armani Exchange // espadrilles: Soludos (similar here) // shades: Marc by Marc Jacobs  // lip: Chanel – Glossimer in Amour

I hope everyone had a great weekend! The weather in Chicago was just gorgeous – sunny and temperatures in the mid-80s! So, I decided to make some cutoff shorts and sport some espadrilles. A few subtle gold accessories and oversized shades bring everything together for a polished casual look.

simple summer glow

1: Tourmaline Charged Radiant Skin Refiner, Aveda // 2: Protective Moisturizing Lotion, Diptyque // 3: Les Beiges, Chanel // 4: Ombre Essentielle, Chanel // 5: Lip Vinyl, Marc Jacobs

Here are a few of my favorite products I use to create a subtle and natural looking sun-kissed face. While washing your face and makeup off daily is crucial to healthy skin, it’s also important to exfoliate often. I love, love, love Aveda’s Tourmaline Charged Radiant Skin Refiner. I notice a difference each time I use it (twice a week) and it leaves my skin feeling fresh and bright. For a natural looking bronze, I suggest applying Les Beiges on the contours of your cheeks; brushing upward while avoiding the jawline. Finish with a touch around the temples and a sweep of your brush over your nose. Simple and fresh!

spring beauty

1: Les Beiges, Chanel // 2: Rouge Coco Baume, Chanel // 3: Spin the Bottle, Essie //4: Lip Vinyl – Sweet Escape, Marc Jacobs // 5: Velvet Hand Lotion, Diptyque // 6: ‘Amber’ Eau de Parfum Spray, Prada

It’s always refreshing to change up your beauty routine and colors for Spring. I’ve selected a few of my favorite products and a few that I have my eye on…that Marc Jacobs gloss is so pretty! I generally stick to a natural palette and will occasionally wear a bold lip for something different. I’ve been wearing Amber by Prada consistently for 8 years, and will never stray away from this elegant aroma. What are some of your favorite beauty products and trends?
